2. General information

The protection of your personal data is important to us. We treat your personal data confidentially and process it exclusively within the framework of applicable data protection law, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

This website is also built to be largely data-minimal: it contains no advertising scripts and no social media plugins. The fonts used are served from our own server rather than via Google Fonts, so no connection to third parties takes place for them. The only third-party service in use is Google Analytics 4, described in section 6, which only loads if you actively consent via the cookie banner shown on your first visit.

3. Hosting

This website is hosted by STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany.

When you visit our website, the hosting provider processes technically necessary access data (server log files), including in particular:

  • IP address of the requesting device
  • Date and time of access
  • The page or file accessed
  • Referrer URL and technical information about the browser and device used

STRATO states that when a website is accessed, IP addresses are recorded in server log files and, as a rule, stored for a maximum of seven days for the purpose of detecting and defending against attacks.

This processing serves the secure and technically reliable provision of our website. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR – our legitimate interest in the secure and trouble-free operation of the website. To the extent STRATO processes personal data on our behalf, this is done on the basis of a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.

4. Contact form

If you contact us via the contact form or by email, we collect the details you provide – in particular your name, email address, and the content of your message – solely to handle your enquiry and the resulting correspondence. The form sends this information directly by email through our own mailserver at Strato – no further third parties or form-hosting services are involved, so no separate data processing agreement is required for this.

The form can only be submitted once you have confirmed, via a checkbox, that you have read our privacy policy. The legal basis for the processing is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR – our legitimate interest in handling your enquiry and communicating with you – and, to the extent you consent by checking the box, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Where your enquiry is directed at entering into or performing a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR may additionally serve as the legal basis.

We store the data submitted via the contact form only for as long as is necessary to handle your enquiry, or as required by statutory retention obligations.

5. Google Analytics 4

With your consent, this website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"), to understand how the site is used and to improve it.

Google Analytics is only activated on our website once you click "Accept" on the cookie banner shown when you first visit the site. If you click "Decline", or take no action, no Google Analytics code loads and no data is sent to Google. Your decision is stored in your browser's local storage – not a cookie – so that you are not asked again. The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

Use of Google Analytics may involve processing information about the use of our website, pages visited, technical information about the device used, and information about your interaction with our website. According to Google, Google Analytics 4 does not permanently store individual IP addresses; the IP address is used briefly to determine the approximate region and is then discarded. We do not currently use Google Analytics in conjunction with Google Ads.

Google may process data on servers outside the EU, including in the United States. This transfer relies on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses issued by the European Commission and/or, where Google is certified for it, the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (an adequacy decision of the European Commission). You can withdraw your consent at any time with future effect, or change your cookie settings – see section 6.

6. Cookies and consent management

Our website uses technically necessary cookies, or comparable technologies, that are required for the website to operate – this includes the cookie decision itself, which is stored in your browser's local storage. This storage does not require separate consent, as it is strictly necessary for the cookie banner to function (Art. 5(3) ePrivacy Directive).

Beyond that, we use Google Analytics for analytics purposes. Google Analytics is only activated once you have given your consent. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time via your cookie settings:

For security reasons, this website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that your browser's address bar begins with "https://" and a lock icon is displayed. This protects transmitted data from access by third parties.
